I was really surprised to see photographs of the Belgian Secret Service Building on the Cryptome site.   But what really surprised me was to read the comment about the fact that this building should be unkwown by the people...

It is true that the previous building, at the Square de Meeus, is still seen as the place where the "Sûreté de l'Etat" resides; but a lot of people know the new building since it is also the place where "new Belgian residents" (refugees, nationality seekers...) have to declare themselves (at the "Office des Etrangers"), and follow complicated administrative procedures (and of many eventually get emprisoned, put in camps or rejected at the borders or the airport).  This building appeared many times in the news before, since it is also the place were demonstrations against unfair treatment of refugees by the authorities and law enforcements take place (it is also the starting place of big demonstrations of all kinds).
