The Frolov's ELG-Hat is based on the T-Shaped capacitor built and designed by Alexander Frolov, it uses an improved Biefeld-Brown effect. This special design improves significantly the thrust and needs only few kV (5-10 kV) compared to the high voltage (30-250 kV) required by the original experiment of T.Townsend Brown. The Frolov's T-Shaped capacitor experiment has been fully presented in the Frolov's web site and also in the Electric Space Craft journal (issue 30, page 30 ( March 2000 )).
The ELG-Hat v1.0 construction procedure :
Step 1 :
Cut a 120 mm disk and a 220x20 mm rectangle in a 3mm polystyren foam sheet. You use a common CD as a template...
Step 2 :
Roll up carefully the rectangular strip on a bottle so as to make a 70mm cylinder, it is recommended to cover the foam with an adhesive rubber before. Glue with epoxy the cylinder on the main disk as shown in the photo below.
Step 3 :
Cut a 50 mm disk and a 120mm ring in an aluminum sheet ( commonly used for cooking ) as shown in the photo below.
Step 4 :
Glue the aluminum disk and the ring on the hat shaped device as shown in the photo below. The ELG-Hat v1.0 is now finished and ready for testing....
