all good points...  adding port 80 is supposed to happen once
there is some bug fixed in Unix firewall code to do the redirect.
We don't want the servers running as root for obvious reasons.

Doco would help too, but is a fallback.  Most people can't change
their firewall, so it is not a solution just to document..
