Your gift can help further the important work of the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. There are several ways that you can support the Institute's research to prevent disease and improve health:
You are also welcome to dedicate your gift in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one.
Contributions are made through the Oregon State University Foundation, the Institute's parent charity. All gifts are treated as restricted gifts to the Linus Pauling Institute and are tax deductible under IRS regulations. For more information about the Institute's fundraising policies and relationship with Oregon State University, click here.
To send a check, please make your check payable to the "OSU Foundation" and mail to: Scott Palmer, OSU Foundation, 850 SW 35th Street, Corvallis, Oregon 97333. Please mark "Linus Pauling Institute" in the notation section of your check. You will receive a formal gift receipt for your records.
You can make your gift to the Linus Pauling Institute via credit card by calling the OSU Foundation at 800-354-7281 or 541-737-4218.
Giving securities often has advantages for donors over gifts of cash. You can receive charitable deduction for today's market value of the securities, and you are not liable for capital gains, since the assets are donated instead of sold. To find out more about donating stock to the Linus Pauling Institute, you or your financial advisor can call Scott Palmer (866-218-8930) or Colisse Franklin (800-354-7281) at the OSU Foundation.
Including the Linus Pauling Institute in your Will or Trust: You can easily make the Institute part of your estate plans by including the following language in your will or trust:
"...to the Oregon State University Foundation, an Oregon nonprofit corporation, with its principal office at 850 SW 35th Street, Corvallis, OR 97333, for the benefit and use by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University for the purposes and objectives for which it was created and exists, as may be recommended by the Director of the Linus Pauling Institute."
Please let us know of your intentions so that we can better steward your gift according to your wishes.
Gifts that provide donors income: There are several planned gifts, such as charitable remainder trusts and gift annuities, which can provide donors with tax benefits and a lifetime income stream, even as you prepare a future gift to support the Institute.
For more information, contact LPI's Director of Development, Scott Palmer, at the OSU Foundation. Further reading material on planned gifts can also be found on the Ways of Giving section of the OSU Foundation website.
If you wish to dedicate your gift in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one, please include a note with your contribution indicating the honoree and the name and address of those you would like us to notify (please print). A special letter is sent to the honoree or their family indicating that the gift has been made. (The amount is not included.) As the donor, you will also receive a copy of the letter.
